You are right, it was an accident. I meant to put Torrealba in but for some reason or another I left him out. Thank you for the catch. I will correct the list.

I'm wondering: Did you intentionally leave Yorvit Torrealba off the catcher's list? He'll be available and I think he might be more valuable than any of the guys listed.

I’m going with the homer pick.

Yankees in six. A-Rod’s hot bat continues. He gets the MVP and officially earns his pinstripes once and for all.

Hi -- John Breneman here, editor/humorist from the Boston Herald and Humor Gazette.

I've made a fun video about baseball's Fall Classic and was hoping you might enjoy it and share it with others.

Inspired by Dustin Hoffman's Oscar-winning character in "Rain Main," it is an homage to the national pastime by my imaginary baseball savant -- "Rain Delay Man."

Thank you for your time and consideration!

I'm not sure Atlanta would be willing to trade Lowe to one of their biggest rivals in the division.

Atlanta would probably be willing to part with Derek Lowe for absolutely nothing if the Mets are willing to pick up the rest of his $45 million contract!

Great thoughts. I think you correctly identified the playoff participants. By the way, I like the Giants over the Rockies.

I think Tigers and Red Sox advance. Same with Cardinals and Dodgers.

I disagree. The debate is easy if the Twins make the playoffs, Mauer wins. If they don't, then it becomes neck and neck. Remember, Mauer may have the best season for a catcher in the history of the game, voters will not forget that. The letter sent out to voters states that the MVP may come from a non-playoff team.

Teixeira benefits from batting in a stacked line up. Look at the pay roll differences between these teams. If you really wanna talk about value, Mauer's production only costs the Twins $10.5 million, while the Yankees Teixeira makes $20.6 million. Plus, Mauer plays the most demanding defensive position, while Teixeira plays the least demanding position.

Nearly 2/3 of Teixeira's home runs have come at the home-run inflated Yankee stadium. (He's also only batting .265 away from home.)

Now, let's talk about clutch-hitting.

Teixeira's stats with runners-on, RISP, and RISP w/ 2 outs:

.273 / .278 / .346

and Mauer's:

.374 / .351 / .400

I really think it would be a travesty if a season as remarkable as Joe Mauer's is negated by the horrible team that is the Minnesota Twins. He shouldn't be punished for being on a team that only spends $65 million, as opposed to the Yankees $201 million, or the Tigers $115 million.
